Literature Review on State of the Art in Shot Peening in the Last Decade (2006-2015)

摘要

Shot peening (SP) is a cold working process with the aim of producing a compressive residual stress layer and improving fatigue property of metals and composites, which is widely used in industry due to its own characteristics such as remarkable strengthening effect, low cost and well adaption. This paper provides an extensive literature review and summary on SP process development in the last decade by introducing the development of SP simulation and some new SP methods, such as laser peening, ultrasonic peening and high energy peening and etc., which can give readers a brief overview for the state of the art in shot peeing process in the last decade.
