Bovine Respiratory Coronavirus

Bovine respiratory disease (BRD) is the number one cause of mortality in feedlot cattle. Several viruses (including BRCV) and bacteria have been associated with BRD. BCV is also an important cause of calf diarrhea.Bovine coronavirus (BCV) is a member of antigenic group 2 which also includes other members of ruminant coronaviruses that are genetically and antigenically related to BCV (deer coronavirus). All members of Coronaviridae family BCV have spike-like projections on the surface (Spike and hemagglutinin-esterase).
