Flight delay is an increasingly prevalent issue that has plagued both the domestic and international civil aviation industry due to the rapid development of China's civil aviation industry. This paper analyzes flight delay predictions influenced by first-order and second-order networks directly connected to the target airport. The verification of the influence of the second-order route network will facilitate the improvement of flight delay prediction accuracy through the comparisons of predicted results. The experimental results demonstrate that the prediction accuracy for the delay has improved to a certain degree when the second-order route network is taken into consideration, as compared with just the first-order route network alone. Concurrently, the root mean square error between the predicted value and the real value is reduced; hence the predictive value is significantly closer to the real value.
