On-Iine Fault Detection of Transmission Line Based on the Wavelet Transforms Theory

The electrical energy transportation is influenced by fault of transmission lines. So the on-line detection of transmission lines faults is necessary requirement for the future development of power grid. This paper proposes an On-line fault detection method of transmission line based on the wavelet transforms theory. Firstly the analysis for signal singularitylee index of wavelet transform is given. Then a wavelet transform algorithm for fault detection is proposed. Finally Matlab simulation results show the effectiveness of the detection algorithm.
