This paper presents the implementation of incremental conductance (INC) MPPT by perturbation in voltage by using Zeta converter to track Maximum power point (MPP) of solar photovoltaic (SPV) array. INC MPPT by perturbation in voltage requires a PI controller (INC-PI MPPT). The INC-PI MPPT removes the dilemma of step size selection faced in INC MPPT by direct duty cycle control and tracks MPP with high speed and reduced oscillations around MPP without compromising on accuracy. Zeta converter operates in continuous conduction mode and provides an unbounded region for MPPT. The proposed system is designed and modeled to obtain good accuracy and stability under highly dynamic conditions. The proposed system is simulated, and a comparison of INC-PI MPPT and INC MPPT by direct duty cycle control is presented using MATLAB/Simulink to verify the proficiency of proposed system under practical operating conditions.
