PMD monitoring with the interference of CD and OSNR using delay-tap sampling

摘要

Our study proposes a method of monitoring polarization mode dispersion (PMD) under the influence of chromatic dispersion (CD) and optical signal-to-noise-ratio (OSNR) in the two-dimensional phase diagram, using delay sampling by two-dimensional phase diagram. The result shows that PMD at range of 5ps/(km)~(1/2) to 37ps/(km)~(1/2) can be effectively monitored from the interference of CD and OSNR.
