Performance Improvement of Distribution System using Dynamic Evolution Controller for Boost Converter in PV

Photovoltaic which is intermittent in nature has to be made constant at the consumer side irrespective of the change in input or load. Often the controller that is used for boosting the voltage may have an initial shoot which may not be acceptable by all the devices. In this paper the performance of Dynamic Evolution controller (DEC) in boost converter for changes in insolation of PV and load has been investigated. It is found that the rapid and stable response nature of DEC with faster settling time is superior to other conventional controllers. The major benefit is that, during changes in the solar irradiation the DEC accordingly varies the duty cycle of the gate pulse and the variation in input voltage is compensated in addition to boosting and regulating the converter output voltage, which makes it suitable in highly nonlinear and variable PV systems. Simulation results show the effectiveness of DEC in reducing the shoot while keeping the equipment and user's satisfaction.
