With the aim of improve the capacity, authors have proposed hybrid technology for vehicular communication system. They developed a bridge between two different technologies. In this design, they attempt to integrate wireless mobile communication system like Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) technology with the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC). The novel architecture is proposed utilizing WiMax as Road Side Unit (RSU) installed along the road and DSRC as On-Board Units (OBU) installed on vehicles. Authors proposed a convergence method without modifying the existing standards. Authors did the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) only in the downlink which is the common feature in the physical layer for both WiMax and DSRC. Introducing some tricky method, we matched frame formats and sub-carrier of different OFDM standard. The simulation result in Matlab shows that the communication possible between DSRC and WiMax.
