In this paper, we presented the structure of up-concave finger seal based on parabolic curve. In order to get better sealing performance of finger seal, using the Ansys APDL language, we built the parametric model of finger seal including two finger beams, and analyzed the sealing performance between finger seal with variable stiffness and involute curve finger seal by changing the structure parameters and working conditions. Finite element analysis shows that the finger seal with variable stiffness has smaller hysteresis rate than involute curve finger seal, and with the increasement of the pressure, its hysteresis rate and average contact pressure do not increase significantly compared with the latter, which indicates that the finger seal with variable stiffness works more stable when the conditions change, and it can work in the wider conditions. Therefore, it has potential research value and application prospect.
