Advanced Volumetric Phased Array Inspection for Un-Bored Steam Turbine Rotors

GE has developed the URIS~(TM) system to provide a tool to enable engineering to recommend extended serviceability of steam turbine rotors. The system uses patented modern technology to provide inspection data in areas where ultrasonic methods are difficult to apply. In addition, this system can provide ultrasonic information which equals boresonic results and also accounts for the off-axis nature of each point where data is acquired.
