Effect of dovetail joints damage for the overall seismic performance of the component is very large; there are many forms of damage. With reference to the Yingzao Fashi, two frame nodes model have been designed in accordance with the original size, including a node intact frame column model and a dovetail mortise tenon joints of band gap of damage model. Extraction of the friction contact surface of the dovetail joints can be done by setting a macro gap of 5 mm, and making the separation of tenon and mortise. The component applied is low cyclic loading and by studying dovetail joint destruction influence on seismic performances. Hysteretic curve of two models show the "pinch" phenomenon, but the damaged one is worse, stiffness degradation is obvious and energy dissipation capacity is weaker. Therefore, the loss of the friction contact surface will greatly affect the seismic performance of the structure.
