Several use cases for vehicle transfer path analysis (TPA) by an automotive supplier and its wide range of products are presented here, thus showing, that the TPA method has made it to a standard development tool. The pure structure-borne TPA models are based on common matrix inversion for the determination of operational forces. Good experiences are made with just one to two times matrix overestimation. Matrix data is collected simultaneously with the relevant transfer functions, to the interior target location, via hammer impacts. TPA model verification is made by means of artificial excitation. The calculations are carried out with an in-house Matlab software and the results are closely communicated with the customer in order to optimize the products and possibly the surrounding system in the most efficient way.
