In automatic radar target detection, weak target is usually covered by strong jamming, which leads to low detection probability. In this paper, we propose a novel method for weak target detection under strong jamming. Firstly, the distance of strong jamming is estimated from range profile, and the radial velocity of strong jamming is estimated from Doppler information of echo pules. Then the amplitude of strong jamming is gained according to the amplitude ratio between reference signal and echo pulses. After that, the strong jamming can be restored, and then eliminated from echo pulses. Finally, the weak target can be easily detected by coherent accumulation. Our method improves the detection probability of weak targets, which is demonstrated by simulation results.
