Low energy density, intermittency, and the relatively stochastic nature of wind have hindered the development of high efficiency, low-cost generation solutions. Also, it creates a problem in balancing energy between generation and consumption which can be seen in small and isolated systems with high instailed power in wind. In this paper it's analyzed underwater compressed air energy storage (UWCAES) that consists of compressor and turbine (Liquid piston technology), distensible air bags and pipeline in order to achieve greater production from wind and decrease energy dependence on diesel power plants. Methodology with or without demand side management is developed in order to find for UWCAES the best financial option considering technical restrictions. This methodology is simulated and tested on real power system with one year real time data for generation and consumption (Power System of the island El Hierro, located in Atlantic Ocean near Spain).
