Cell swelling was observed at temperatures above 80°C. Cell swelling is reversible and we attribute it to the electrode re-wetting. Compression reduces the rate of evaporation and prevent layer delamination, therefore limit degradation due to a high temperature event. Compression is effective in reducing physical degradation.
