In Japan, spring waters have long been widely used for domestic purposes such as agriculture and consumption. Because spring waters are so closely intertwined in our everyday lives, many springs have been well maintained by the local residents. Depending on factors such as water quality and volume, a large number of these sources are designated by the Ministry of Environment as providing high-quality water. The names and locations of spring water sources can easily be found on-line.
