In a cloud environment, the workload that has to be maintained using virtualization is limited by the available hardware resources. A Virtual Machine(VM) allocation policy has a crucial role in the cloud computing life cycle. There are different techniques that can be used for these allocation and scheduling processes, which can impact the performance and working of the cloud environment. In this paper, analysis and implemention of the existing allocation techniques has been performed using Cloud Sim. We have further used an approach for performance tuning of the light load cloud environment,by sorting tasks and VMs on basis of a heuristics function. Then have shown performance tunning on basis of parameters like execution time, make span and throughput of allocated tasks.
