In this paper the vibrations of the rod with an asymmetrically located burden are studied. The following cases are analysed: rod weight is negligible; rod weight is significant; rod with joints and rod with one free and one fixed end. The case of a single-burden rod is studied in detail. An approximate solution of the problem is found.
