摘要

The goal of this paper is to propose statistical methods for quantifying the size of a shift in spring peak discharge. Two methods were suggested: a non-parametric method that uses a kernel estimate to estimate a seasonal cycle, and a parametric method where it is assumed that the seasonal cycle is a periodic function, i.e., a linear combination of sine and cosine functions. An argument of the maxima of the estimated seasonal cycle serves as an estimate of location for a peak spring flow.
