Increasing demand and price volatility of natural gas have made the production of synthetic natural gas (SNG) from carbon sources attractive in certain regions of the world. Energy developments of "coal to natural gas", which rely on the rich coal resources of China, not only meet the development direction of clean coal utilization but also guarantee the effective supplement of natural gas. Ni-based catalysts have attracted wide attention in syngas methanation because of their considerable activity, good selectivity, and moderate price. However, the conventional Ni-based catalyst is easily sintered at high temperature for methanation, inducing obvious catalyst activity decrease. Therefore, developing Ni-based catalyst with stable catalytic performance at high temperature is of great interest.
