Cooperative spectrum sensing along with censored energy detection are used in this paper with the aim of improving the efficiency of the available spectrum bands detection schemes in cognitive radio networks. Two witnesses, AND and OR fusion rules are as well considered to decide about the spectrum status based on cognitive users local observations. The analytical expressions of the probabilities of detection, occupation, mis-detection and false alarm are derived. The accuracy of the detector mostly depends on the selected thresholds. Therefore, numerical derivation of the decision thresholds based on root finding algorithm is presented. The coherence between the derived closed forms and the simulated ones based on the derived thresholds is, finally, proven through simulations.
