China is a great agricultural country, which has huge total land resources, yet very little per capita, and meets the food requirements of numerous people about 7% of the world's land. How to increase product yield, improve production efficiency, and combine the dual effect of environment and economy based on the limited resources, is one of the significant problems to urgently need to be addressed at present. This paper first introduces the architecture standard of agricultural Internet of things (IOT), then expounds the basic situation of ZigBee and wireless sensor network (WSN), and finally analyzes the demand for intelligent monitoring system of agricultural environment (IMSAE), from the perspective of the overall design, preliminarily designs an IMSAE using ZigBee WSN.
