INTERPRETTING RESTRICTIVE MOVEMENTS

The clinical evaluation of a patient with hypokinetic or restricted movements tends to be less enigmatic than those with hyperkinetic or exaggerated movements. Perhaps this is because we have better clues and in most cases the clinical signs tend to be less vague and more specific. We are more comfortable looking at a patient that is having trouble moving as opposed to a patient who is moving too much. Restricted movements can be looked at as those that are the result of lameness, weakness and disorders ofposture.
