RESEARCHING BRD - PART I: GETTING OUR HOUSE IN ORDER

Despite the extensive body of literature available, representing massive prior research efforts, animal use, and expenditure of millions of research dollars, Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) remains a leading cause of wastage in the cattle industry. To strategically move research forward in understanding BRD of beef and dairy cattle, it is critical to first assess the evidence upon which current knowledge of BRD is founded. In Part I, we analyze the existing literature supporting the present understanding of BRD diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
