摘要

This paper is focused on the analysis of a multifunctional structure developed by the Second University of Naples, named OBREC, which is an Overtopping Breakwater for Energy Conversion. The hydraulic and structural performance, in terms of average discharge rate q, reflection coefficient K_r and pressures p acting on the structure, are evaluated by means of the numerical model IH-2VOF developed by the University of Cantabria. The results are compared with the laboratory experiments carried out at the Aalborg University (Denmark). Furthermore, the 2D model is used to obtain information related to the wave loadings where experimental data were not available. The results of this preliminary analysis are useful for the ongoing research focused on the structural stability assessment.
