This study deals with the experimental investigation of the forming behaviour and the achievable component quality of thermosetting AFP-towpreg-laminates. For this purpose, components were processed with varying forming temperatures, clamping configurations, pre-heating temperatures, pressures and layups. The formed components were analysed regarding the occurrence of forming defects and their size accuracy. Thereby it was determined, that forming temperature, pressure and laminate structure highly influence external defects. The best results in this regard were achieved with a low forming temperature, high pressure and a 0/90 laminate structure. Processing parameter settings do not seem to have a major influence on internal component organisations. The size accuracy is mainly influenced by forming temperature and the applied pressure, where higher values result in lower component thicknesses.
