For furtherly understanding the mechanism of hot water flooding, this paper emphatically analyzes the effect of temperature field on recovery of reservoir using hot water flooding. Firstly, an experimental method is presented to precisely measure the transient temperature field, then a classic temperature field model of reservoir is set up to predict the transient temperature field distribution. Validation of model shows that model calculation results agree with measured data. Combined the model, the experiments of reservoir using hot water flooding are simulated to analyze effect of the temperature field on recovery of reservoir. The results show that injection rate and injection temperature of hot water make effect on recovery of reservoir through influencing temperature field of reservoir, while initial oil saturation and porosity make effect upon recovery of reservoir not by influencing on temperature field. Increasing injection rate and injection temperature can increase recovery of reservoir by rising temperature of reservoir. Higher Initial oil saturation of reservoir can increase recovery of reservoir, while the temperature field of reservoir changes little.
