Objectives/Scope:: This study presents change management key enablers to successful workflows conceptualization, automation and implementation portraying two Digital Oil Fields (DOF) processes workflow blueprints as case studies. These workflows manage DOF equipment requirement definition, procurement, installation, commissioning, maintenance and contract administration. In order to procure, deploy and maintain the technology proficiently, workflows are necessary to execute efficient processes that integrate people, processes and technology to support business results. Methods, Procedures, Process:: This case study shows the procedures to implement change management for successful adoption in particular DOF programs. The methodology includes the defini- tion of enablers that lead to the establishment of initiatives to improve the efficiency of business processes. This includes workflow development and process re-engineering from conceptualization to implementa- tion. The procedure integrates process knowledge, cross-organizational collaboration, roles and respon- sibilities awareness and ownership as key enablers to successful adoption and execution by the involved parties. Results, Observations, Conclusions:: Results and Observations: The benefits of change manage- ment enablers in the DOF workflows cases are portrayed in terms of improved efficiency and performance measurement through the integration of knowledge management, process waste elimination, task auto- mation and visualization. On one case study, business process waste was minimized by eliminating a full stage of non-value adding work. This led to a processing time reduction of 500% with the same business results. On another case study, the workflow execution leads to a performance improvement in equipment availability and design selection, minimizing waiting time and rework.change management leads to successful business process workflows development and execution. Further added value is achieved when change management implementation is aligned with the company strategy. Novel/Additive Information:: This paper provides a valuable insight to applied case studies of DOF implementation and improvement programs. Here, the reader is walked through changes management stages to highlight the procedures for workflow conceptualization, development and implementation, with highlights on the change management enablers leading to success.
