Echo intensity data of weather radars are used to make extrapolation nowcasting. TREC method is adopted to obtain horizontal wind fields used as motion vectors to execute the extrapolation for the CAPPI reflectivity in 1 hour. Extrapolation results of a weather case show that TREC method can give reasonable forecasting results compared with the actual echoes, and it can be used as references to monitor the movement and evolution of weather systems.
