Study on performance and effect of the ultrafine extinguishing agent

The present study mainly focused on the performance of ultrafine extinguishing agent and its extinguishing effects. A planetary ball mill was used to grind the extinguishing agent into the size of micron level. The particle size, water repellency, bulk density, liquidity and anti caking property indicators of the ultrafine extinguishing agent were tested, respectively. The minimum dose of extinguishing agent was used as an index to evaluate the extinguishing effects. The results showed that the optimum processing parameters were determined as follows: the revolving speed of ball mill 450 r/min, grinding time 60 min, load 50 g and the ratio of ball weight was 3:2. The average grain diameter, hygroscopicity, bulk density of the ultrafine extinguishingagent was determined as 4.68 pm, 2.35% and 0.84 g/cm3, respectively. Besides, the liquidity(angle of repose 33.7°) and water repellency as well as the anti caking property of the extinguishing agent have good property. The extinguishing efficiency of agent decreased with the increase of its particle size. The ultrafine extinguishing agent hasa good effect in fire extinction. The ultrafine extinguishing agent has a good application prospect in the field of fire prevention and fighting.
