With the increasing deployment of CSP plants in Morocco during the past few years and the progress in the Moroccan solar plan, local content, in particular civil work and foundations, has gained importance as a contributor in local employments and mobilization of local industry and companies. Nevertheless, foundations still have a significant importance and can be a decisive factor on timing within a CSP plant project. A new type of foundations inspired from PV plants had been proposed and adopted for the 1MWe CSP-ORC pilot plant in Benguerir - Morocco with the objective to reduce installation cost, and deployment time, these foundations were based on steel piles pinned deep in the ground and supporting entirely the weight of the solar field components. Hence, the aim of this work is to analyze the new steel piles foundations for linear Fresnel Collectors in terms of cost, mechanical stability and ease of installation, and compare those performances with concrete foundations.
