There is a need for a new SCADA Mobility Infrastructure: (1) The Workstation HMI approach via browsers is not sufficient. Smart mobile devices have built in capability to detect location: (1) Location and user profile enables an enhanced mobile HMI solution; (2) Knowledge of the mobile workers location and surrounding assets has the benefit of tracking positions. SCADA Mobility Server is a key part of the infrastructure: (1) Data acquisition via industry protocols; (2) Aggregate/process/treat the data; (3) Contextual filtering & tracking; (4) Control user rights; (5) Generate reports & dashboard metrics.
