Transformer incipient faults are often diagnosed with dissolved gas analysis (DGA) of transformer oil. Although various methods have been developed to interpret DGA results such as IEC codes, Rogers method and triaggle methods, they sometimes fail to determine the faults. This is normally due to the existance of more than one fault in a transformer. This paper presents a fuzzy logic technique and a computer program package which can be used to store various test results and diagnose multiple faults in a transformer. It has been proved to be a very useful tool for transformer diagnosis and maintenance planning.
