International Aggregated Indicators and RD Expenditures: there is causality?

The relationship between economic governance and national prosperity are little understood and remain a relatively new researched area in the field of international relations and empirical research. This paper tries to find the causal relationship between R&D expenditures and international indicators with a qualitative and quantitative approach, with emphasis on the relationship between independent and dependent variables and on future research. The implications are varied in terms of defining the considered countries' status and underline an objective point of view based on econometric analysis and a subjective point of view based on the literature survey. Main value added results from using an appropriate methodological framework and econometric tools in order to emphasize the causal link between the considered dependent and independent variables.
