Study on water scrubbing of gas phase pollutants using a microbubble technique

摘要

A water scrubber is a widely used technique to remove air pollutants, such as odor and exhaust gases. Since odor and exhaust gases contain several hundreds of organics which indicate low or water-insoluble (hydrophobic) characteristics, the application of the water scrubber to those gases is difficult. A new treatment technique for gaseous pollutants using microbubbles (MBs) was proposed in this study because MBs have high solubility and dispersibility of hydrophobic gases and particles into water.
