Shock characteristics of a hydraulic damper using shear thinning fluid

摘要

A hydraulic damper using silicone oil is developed to absorb the shock energy.Its mathematical model considering shear thinning effect is established to compute the acceleration histories of the damper under different impact velocities.The obtained computational results agree well with the experimental data, which suggests that the mathematical model can be used for the engineering design of this kind of hydraulic damper.
