Challenges of Hybridisation of off-Highway Machinery

摘要

The development of new Hybrid powertrain technologies for Off-Highway Machinery industry increases the need of new developments and methods that differ from the classical approaches. In the Off-Highway industry, actuators and duty cycles are historically oversized beyond their need and machinery power requirements were often a secondary issue. However in Hybrid power train dimensioning the need of an accurate power consumption study, highly accurate simulations [1] and precise duty cycle determination becomes critical in the first stages of design for a Hybrid machine. It is also evident that further development of hardware and component parts is necessary to suit the needs of the machinery and operating environments.
