This study investigated the effect of ferrous sulfate and natural indigo dye (Indigofera tinctoria) on UV protection property of silk fabric using post-mordanting and pad-batch processes. Dyeing and fastness properties of dyed silk fabric were also discussed. The demonstrated that silk fabrics displayed very good anti-ultraviolet. Silk fabric dyed with natural indigo showed blue shade. However, greenish blue shade was obtained with ferrous sulfate mordant. The colour fastness properties of washing, water, perspiration, and rubbing were very good level. However, fair level was observed in light fastness.
