The paper presents a new filtering approach capable of removing impulse noise in multichannel images. The proposed filtering method consists of two steps: the current central pixel in filtering window is determined by the fuzzy system whether it is a possible impulse noise or not, and then use a sigma vector median filter with a different tuning parameter, which depends on the membership degree in the suitable noise-free fuzzy set. The results show that the proposed filter can efficiently be used for preserving fine details while suppressing impulse noise.
