PLC networking technology research and application based on IEC61850 monitoring system for substation

With the development of the smart grid, intelligent substation construction is also actively advancing. In the traditional substation, there are a great variety of information equipment; these cause issues, such as cabling difficulties, installation and maintenance difficulties and high costs. And that existing intelligent communication bandwidth cannot meet the future needs. This paper studies the application of broadband power line carrier technology online monitoring system in substation, putting forward specific substation communication network solutions based on broadband carrier and IEC61850. Broadband carrier communication makes installation and maintenance easier, cost lower, anti-interference ability stronger, transmission bandwidth higher, delay shorter, and system safer and more reliable.
