To analyze the coupling laws of lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) on coaxial cable, the electromagnetic simulation software CST is used to calculate the induced voltage on the coaxial cable terminal load. The coupling laws of coaxial cable terminal load with different polarizations of the incident wave, different resistance of the load are analyzed. The results show that when the coaxial cable is short, which can be regarded as an electrically small object, the full waveform of the terminal voltage is similar to that of a pulse, and the wave front can be regarded as a damping vibration waveform. The terminal voltage of the cable decreases with the increasing angle between the directions of the incident electric field and the cable. In addition, the terminal voltage increases to a constant value with the step increasing of the load resistance.
