A new kind of leaky coaxial cable with V-shaped reflector

When the leaky coaxial cable (LCX) is used in confined environments, the backward radiation, which can cause larger attenuation and electromagnetic interference, is usually undesired. In this paper, a new structure of LCX with V-shaped reflector is investigated and discussed. The near field distributions in front of the LCX and the far field patterns in symmetry plane of the LCX are presented. It is shown by the results that the V-shaped reflector can increase the near field strength of the LCX, and the far field characteristics can also be improved by properly choosing parameters of the reflector.
