Due to the injurious influences of phosphorus on the properties of steel and increasingly high contents ofphosphorus in the ore, the removal of it through the process of hot metal dephosphorization has achieved anincreasing importance. The objective of this article is the thermodynamic evaluation of mixtures based on CaOFeO,used in the process of hot metal dephosphorization. The thermodynamic evaluation was performed usingcomputational thermodynamic software FactSage, which were effective in determining the equilibrium phosphorusconcentration in the metal, present phases, and melting temperature of the mixtures.
