Case Study: Dissolving pulp mill expansion at a brownfield site

This paper, led by Andrew Hall, is a case study for the engineering and commissioning and startup of a new brownfield dissolving pulp mill expansion. AMEC undertook EPCM delivery of the dissolving pulp mill expansion project in an integrated team of client, engineer and construction contractor working closely and collaboratively. The complex project involved the integration of a new fibreline, and reconfiguration of an existing fibreline, and upgrades to the recovery boiler, evaporators, recausticising, uptake machine, and a new woodyard and ash leaching plant.
