This paper presents a new concept in electric circuit design using structured surfaces embossed on a polymer web. The structures on the web are then selectively coated, producing accepting features into which active or passive materials are deposited. Together with suitable interconnection, these filled structures can produce a wide range of electronic devices, including capacitors, batteries, diodes, photovoltaic diodes and FETs. Working test devices are presented using both organic and inorganic active materials demonstrating several device types and design options.
