A practical way of reducing losses and harmonics distortion has been presented - Calculating and determining the effective minimum dead time - Providing the compensation for dead time and effect of other non-idealities. Application of these methods results in an industrial drive system that is smaller, more efficient and more reliable. The method can also evaluate for the performance of other functions such as system clock, correct wiring, all sensors are healthy, gate drivers operate normal.
