The concerns about the consequences of global warming have caused a worldwide shift towards using more renewable energy sources. The biomass combustion has proven to be particularly attractive for smaller electricity generation plants due to the abundance of various type of fuels which can be used in the process. Just the same, it is very common that a certain biomass is not available throughout the year and that, in order to maintain the economic viability of the power plant, several types of biomass need to be used in the same boiler.
