The importance of the flexible operation of conventional power plants is strongly increased by the preferred integration of renewable energy into the power grids. Under these changed boundary conditions, the units should enable 1. faster start-up and shutdown procedures 2. lower minimum loads 3. faster load gradients and further economical operation. Cost pressure in maintenance, also by means of proactive replacement and retrofit, is also increasing significantly.
