During the construction of wells for coal-bed methane (CBM) development, well completion is the last link of the drilling project, and the well completion technology directly affects the drainage effect of CBM. Soft coal seam widely distributes in main coal mining area in china, the complicated geological conditions of soft coal seam result in poor stability of well wall and easily jammed of gas production channel, which seriously restrict the high efficient drainage of CBM. Aiming at the above technical problems, this paper mainly studies the completion technology with screen pipe for horizontally-intersected well in soft coal seam, including selection of the screen pipe, development of auxiliary equipment and screen pipe running operation technique, etc.. The well completion technology of horizontally-intersected wells with screen pipe in soft coal seam has been used in Jincheng-Chengzhuang coalmine. Three horizontally-intersected wells were completed with a total length of 1466m screen pipe, and its application effect is good.
