摘要

Aniline was polymerized by a photochemical process under sunlight using a microreactor. The produced polyaniline was identified by FTIR analysis. It was found that the functional groups are influenced by sunlight intensity where the polyaniline essential vibrational bands turn into a wider shape which produced a higher density of rings. Experimental outcomes revealed that sunlight enhanced the conversion of aniline while the polymerization period is decreased. Moreover, it was found that increasing feed temperature lowered polymerization time, but decreasing the yield. The kinetic study showed that the consumption rate of aniline was well described by pseudo-first order kinetics using the Langmuir-Hinshelwood model (L-H M).
